PM - DG IB hold discussion over the alleged IB letter

ISLAMABAD: Director General Intelligence Bureau (IB) called on Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and disowned the alleged letter regarding the nexus of lawmakers with terror outfits.
The affected members of the legislative assemblies have lodged strong protest with PM Abbasi, saying three of them have been denied visas by embassies owing to the letter.
After the alleged letter caused huge furor, Speaker National Assembly, law minister and DG IB met the Prime Minister.
During his briefing to the meeting, the IB chief said he has nothing to do with the letter.
Law minister Zahid Hamid proposed to the members to bring privilege motion against IB; however, the lawmakers observed they do not want to take the matter too far.
Yesterday, Federal Minister Riaz Pirzada boycotted the proceedings of the house.
