Sensor and Energy Harvesting Systems Research Lab in Pakistan

PESHAWAR: (APP) The Vice Chancellor University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar Prof. Dr. Iftikhar Hussain inaugurated a well equipped Sensor and Energy Harvesting Systems Research (SEHSR) laboratory at the Institute of Mechatronics Engineering.
Prof. Dr. Iftikhar Hussain on the occasion assured all possible support to enhance research activities at UET Peshawar and assistance to Institute of Mechatronics Engineering. He appreciated the efforts of Director Institute of Mechatronics Prof. Dr. Riaz Akbar and lead person of the Lab Dr. Farid Khan.
Dr. Raiz Akbar, in his welcome address thanked the Vice Chancellor for the support in establishing the laboratory. He informed about various ongoing activities at the institute. Dr. Farid Khan, briefly described the research activities and on-going projects.
He highlighted the importance of the Sensor and Energy Harvesting Systems Research laboratory (SEHSR) for enhancing the capacity of research and development at UET Peshawar related to the energy harvesting of wireless sensor hydel power generation and Bio-mechatronics.
He informed that 29 publications have been published by faculty and postgraduate students in reputed international journals and peer reviewed conferences with 12 papers published in impact factor journals.
In the end, Prof. Dr. Iftikhar Hussain distributed shields and certificates among the faculty members and research scholars who significantly contributed towards the research and development of the lab. Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Noor Mohammad, Mr. Maqbali Khan, Director Budget, faculty members and large number of students were also present on the occasion.
