Sharif family name on ECL: New developments reported in LHC

LAHORE – New developments have been reported in the Lahore High Court (LHC) regarding names of Sharif family on Exit Control List.
LHC on Sunday issued notice to Interior Ministry on petition seeking removal names of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and Capt (rtd) Safdar from Exit Control List (ECL).
As per details garnered, Hon’ble Justice Mamoon Rashid Sheikh began hearing of the case here in Lahore today.
As the hearing went underway, the petitioner informed court that Interior Ministry is not providing the copy of written orders pertaining to placing Sharifs on ECL.
The court issued notice to Ministry of Interior and sought reply in this regard.
Later, the hearing was adjourned till Jan 14.
