Pakistan will not accept Indian security role in region by US: Pakistan Foreign Secretary

KARACHI – Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua has said that the US policy on South Asia and National Security is not encouraging for Pakistan.

Addressing a seminar on ‘Pakistan Foreign Policy Issues’ in Karachi Institute of Business Administration on Saturday, she was of the view that America wants to assign a security role to India, which is matter of concern for Pakistan.

“India is directly carrying out terrorist activities in Pakistan. America, the NATO and the Afghan government do not control a major part of Afghanistan,” she said.

Janjua said that the US is a super power and it is like a neighbor in the region. She urged the US to adopt serious attitude towards Pakistan. “America is changing Asia-Pacific region into Indo-Pacific region. We have talked to Japan about the Indo-Pacific region,” she added.

She said that there is no Haqqani network in Pakistan.
