Punjab government responds over arrest of Senior Minister Aleem Khan

LAHORE - The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Wednesday took Senior Minister Punjab Abdul Aleem Khan into its custody for further investigation in the assets beyond means case. According to NAB press release, the provincial Minister had been summoned to appear before NAB officials at the NAB Headquarters.The minister had earlier appeared thrice before NAB. Abdul Aleem Khan would be produced before the NAB court on Thursday for remand, it added. Responding to this, Punjab Information Minister Fayaz ul Hassan Chohan said NAB had taken the PTI Minister into custody for investigations of the cases, adding no reference was instituted against him as yet. To a question, he said Shehbaz Sharif should resign as Opposition Leader in the National Assembly (NA) as a reference had been filed by the NAB.
He said PTI politicians always stood on high moral grounds as Babur Awan resigned as Advisor once a reference was filed against him.
