Iftikhar Durrani terms Asad Umar's resignation news fabricated, baseless

ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Media Iftikhar Durrani termed a news about the resignation of Finance Minister Asad Umar totally fabricated and baseless.
Durrani, in a statement, regretted that despite rebuttal by the government, some circles were highlighting the fabricated news. By propagating such kind of baseless news such people even did not care that it could have a negative impact on the country’s economy, he added.
He requested the media houses to confirm such kind of news from the Spokesperson to the Prime Minister before their release or broadcast, which was not only a journalistic but also a moral responsibility of media representatives.
