SRINAGAR: Muslim Students allegedly thrashed by Indian Held Kashmir Police at National Institute of Technology Campus in Srinagar.
Students claimed that police allegedly thrashed them with kicks and punches which caused serious injuries to many students.
A student said “When we were going out of the campus as per past practice, police did not allow us and resorted to cane-charge resulting in injuries to several students.”
Students claimed that they are feeling unsafe and wanted to go back to their homes which belong to different parts of the country.
Deputy Chief Minister claimed that we are trying to resolve the matter with peace.
He claimed that all demands of students will be fulfilled and all measures will be taken to ensure the safety of students.
He said “I appeal to the students to call on my number 09419149494 in case they have any problems on any front particularly on the security. We will look into that.”
Students were on protest and boycotting classes after the clashes between Muslim and Hindu Students on celebrating West Indies cricket team victory in semi-final against India on Friday.
Hindu students also hoisted Indian flag that day which is banned in the state and that caused a severe reaction from locals as Jammu and Kashmir have their own official flag which is hoisted on official buildings and several official occasions.
