CM calls for speedy work on Quaid-e-Azam Apparel Project

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Friday chaired a high level meeting in which numerous matters apropos Quaid-e-Azam Apparel Park project were reviewed.

Addressing the meeting, Shehbaz Sharif said the Punjab government had planned to establish this Park over thousands of acre land which would be of utmost importance with regard to promotion of industrial, commercial and economic activities.

Its completion would promote textile and garments sector which would have a positive impact on economy, he shared.

Expressing displeasure over slowness in progress of different matters of the project, the Chief Minister said that now further delay would not be tolerated in this project. He said that already a lot of time had been wasted and now there was no room for further delay in the project, therefore, it would be forwarded speedily in a professional manner.

He said that completion of development projects with transparency, speed and standard were hallmark of the Punjab government and same to be followed in this project. He directed that the project should be forwarded after settling all its affairs speedily.

Provincial Minister for Industries Sheikh Alauddin, Arif Saeed, Chief Secretary, Secretary Industry, Consultants and other concerned officials attended the meeting while Chairman Planning & Development participated in the meeting through video link. (APP)
