Syrians flee government advances in eastern Ghouta

In Syria, people are fleeing the eastern Ghouta as the government forces are advancing on the rebel held enclave near the capital Damascus.

Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the government forces' bombardment is focused on Mesraba town and around four hundred families have fled the area.

Meanwhile, the Syrian army said in a statement today that the government forces have taken over control of farmland and towns in the rebel-held enclave.

The statement said a large number of militants have been killed and a number of their camps, tunnels, fortifications and equipment destroyed. (Reuters)
