PM leaves for Nepal today to discuss bilateral ties with Nepalese leadership

ISLAMABAD:Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi will leave for Nepal today on a two-day visit.

During the visit, he will convey felicitations to the Nepalese leadership on successful conclusion of its democratic process and formation of a new government.

The Prime Minister will congratulate the newly elected Nepalese Prime Minister Khadga Prasad Sharma Oli and will also call on President Bidya Devi Bhandari.

The Prime Minister's visit will further expand and strengthen bilateral relations in all areas of mutual interest including trade, education, tourism, defence and people to people contacts.

Ways to reinvigorate SAARC as an important regional organization will also be discussed. 

This visit is part of Pakistan's pro-active and outreach efforts to engage with regional countries.

Nepal is an important regional country and a close friend of Pakistan. The ties with Nepal are characterized by cordiality, mutual respect and commonality of interests.APP/AFP
