PSL Final free passes controversy

KARACHI: Selected individuals were handed over free passes of the Pakistan Super League final while the fans continue to battle over the tickets of the mega event.

The cricket board authorities claimed that no free passes are available and everyone including Chief of Army Staff, Prime Minister of Pakistan will have to purchase the tickets.

However, Geo News anchor Talat Hussain in his show, Naya Pakistan, said that despite cricket authorities' claims there have been reports of people being given free tickets.

He also showed a clip from the Geo TV show, Khabarnaak, Najam Sethi’s wife Jugnu Mohsin said that her husband has flown to Dubai but left the passes with her.

“Due to the passes, strange people including VIPs keep calling requesting the pass,” she claimed on the show in a jovial manner.

After showing the clip, the journalist questioned, “What passes are being given out?”

However, this shows that some people did indeed have free passes, which proves to be contrary to the claims of the authorities, noted Hussain.

Furthermore, the journalist also showed a picture of a ticket with the word ‘complimentary’ written on it. He subtly suggested that proves that there were some free passes indeed.
