Supreme Court to take up former Senator Nehal Hashmi contempt of court case today

ISLAMABAD – The matter of the threatening speech by the former PML-N senator Nehal Hashmi would be taken up by the Supreme Court of Pakistan today. Supreme Court will hear contempt of court case against Senator Nehal Hashmi.
The former senator is to file his reply over show-cause notice served to him by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) last week over an objectionable speech delivered to a gathering in the federal capital during which he threatened the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) and the top court judges over Panama Leaks probe.
Justice Ijaz Afzal is to preside over a three-member bench at 01:00pm tomorrow.
Earlier, Attorney General of Pakistan had filed content of the anti-judiciary speech in the apex court as prosecutor.
