ISLAMABAD - Babar Azam makes history in ICC World Cup 2019.
Babar Azam has surpassed the legendary Javed Miandad to become the highest scorer in a World Cup tournament for Pakistan. Azam has made 474 in eight matches in the 2019 International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cup.
Miandad previously held the title of most runs scored in a single World Cup for Pakistan when he made 437 runs in the 1992 World Cup. Azam surpassed the legendary batsman with an innings of 96 off 98 balls against Bangladesh on Friday.
Azam has had a productive World Cup scoring two half-centuries and a hundred. The hundred against New Zealand in a must-win encounter is widely considered the best innings of the young batsman’s career.
