*LAHORE - Former PML-N MPA from Punjab Mian Naveed Anjum has accused former railways minister Saad Rafique and former National Assembly speaker Ayaz Sadiq of asking him to give Rs30 million for a party ticket.*
I told them that I can spend money on elections, however, I cannot fill someone’s pocket with my hard earned money, said Anjum. He said Rafique also misbehaved with him when he refused to pay them. “He told me that all you Arains are frugal and never want to spend any money.”
Anjum said that he decided not to contest the polls despite receiving assurances from Hamaz Shahbaz that he would resolve the matter.
The PML-N leader said he was later offered a ticket to contest elections from PP-158 against PTI’s Aleem Khan. “It’s not easy to return a PML-N ticket from Lahore, no one does that,” he said, adding that he did it out of self respect.
