NAB makes further progress in Punjab Companies Scandal

LAHORE – The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Thursday obtained record of 30 more companies pertaining to the probe of Punjab companies’ scandal.

As per details, the companies include Punjab Power Development, Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park, Quaid-e-Azam Thermal Power Company and Waste Management Companies of Lahore, Bahawalpur and Gujranwala among others.

The companies had used funds worth billions of rupees without approval.

NAB DG Shehzad Saleem has said that matters related to the 56 companies of Punjab are intense.

“NAB has obtained the significant record in the case. Probe is underway of the contracts by the companies. Shehbaz Sharif was summoned in mega corruption case and he recorded his statement. The final challan of Ahad Cheema case will also be sent to court soon,” he maintained.

Shehzad Saleem further said that they decide after looking into all cases and not the face. “There is no one-man-show in the NAB system. Raja Qamarul Islam provided expensive contracts of Saaf Pani whose evidence exists. Arrests by NAB have been made on the basis of solid proof,” he asserted.
