IHC fixed hearing over Nawaz Sharif appeal for suspension of sentence

ISLAMABAD – The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has fixed the hearing over Nawaz Sharif appeal.

IHC will hear Nawaz Sharif’s plea for suspension of sentence in the Al-Azizia reference on Monday.

IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah has formed a two-member bench for hearing the plea.

The bench comprises of Chief Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Amir Farooq.

Former premier Nawaz Sharif had filed an appeal in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) against his sentence in the Al-Azizia Steel Mills reference on Tuesday.

The appeal filed through his counsel requested the court to nullify the verdict of the accountability court.

The court had returned the plea after raising an objection. Nawaz Sharif’s counsel again filed the petition after removing the objections.

Nawaz Sharif, in the petition, contended that he should be granted bail and released until the verdict on the main appeals.
