Karachi Police officer gunned down

KARACHI, Jan 4 (APP): A Police Sub-Inspector was killed and two other persons sustained injuries in a firing incident in Gulistan-e-Johar area of the city on Wednesday night, the police said.
According to police, the incident happened near Lal Building in the limits of Shahrah-e-Faisal Police Station, where unidentified assailants shot dead Sub-Inspector Iqbal Mehmood and injured his friend Wasim and a passerby Imran.
A spokesman for the Sindh Police, in a statement, said that the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh A.D. Khawaja has taken notice of the incident and sought a detailed report from the DIG East.
