Soft diplomacy: India reunites Pakistani mother with her 5 year old son

LAHORE: (APP) A five-year-old boy, Iftikhar Ahmad, who was taken to India by his father about 11 months ago, was reunited with his mother at the Wagah Border on Saturday.
Earlier, the Indian authorities handed over the child to the Pakistan High Commission authorities in Amritser.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Pakistan High Commission played a crucial role in the return of the child to Pakistan.
Iftikhar's father, Gulzar Ahmad, a resident of held Kashmir, took the child to India on the pretext of attnding a wedding ceremony there.
The child's mother, Roheena Kiyani, told the media that she was very thankful to the government of Pakistan and the Pak High Commission in India for helping her to get back her son after passage of almost a year.
