Senate condemns political appointments in institutions

ISLAMABAD: (APP) Senate Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat Wednesday said political appoinments had been damaging the public institutions.

The committee meeting, headed by Senator Talha Mahmood, held here at the Parliament House.

The committee members said unfortunately there was not a single organization which seemed to be lucrative.

Senator Shahi Syed said mostly public institutions were on decline as employees were not performing their duties properly.

Pakistan Steel Mills was running in profit but right now, it had been deteriorated due to non performce and incompetence of the staffers, he said.

Critisizing employees of public sector, Senator Kamil Ali Agha said they do not pay heed to their work but the same organisation starts blooming when it is privatised.

Keeping in view the present situation of the country, he said being a nation, all citizens should play their role positively and perform their duties honestly for the development and prosperity of the country.

Senator Talha Mahmood said it was need of hour that all departments should improve their performance and make their organizations profitable for the betterment of the country.
