KP government official arrested by NAB over Corruption allegations

PESHAWAR: (APP) The NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Wednesday arrested Tariq Hassan, Tehsildar Pabbi Nowshera who is allegedly involved in corruption and corrupt practices in acquisition of land measuring 400 Kanals land at mouza Dag ismail Khel Nowshera.
The accused who was absconder for quite long time, caused huge loss to public exchequer to the tune of Rs. 148.6 Million, says NAB press release.
A reference against the accused persons had already been filed in the Accountability Court. The accused person will be produced before the accountability Court Peshawar for obtaining his physical remand.
During the investigation it was revealed that land measuring 400 kanals was acquired by Workers Welfare Board (WWB) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa through private negotiation at the rate of Rs.3,55,440/- per Kanals for Rs. 148.1 Million.
The accused Tariq Awan, Secretary WWB and Zahid Ali Director General WWB, with the connivance of other accused persons allegedly hatched a criminal conspiracy for the embezzlement of the Government Funds.
The accused persons, in connivance with the accused Tariq Hassan, Tehsildar Pabbi Nowshera maneuvered the land revenue record in order to fulfill their ulterior motives.
It is worth mentioning here that, Tariq Awan Secretary WWB, Zahid Ali Director General (Works) WWB, Alamgir Khan Patwari and Jaleel Ahmad Private Person had already been arrested in the instant case. NAB KP recovered Rs. 70 Million out of embezzled amount.
