Former Chairman of Evacuee Trust Property Board Asif Hashmi got arrested in Dubai

ISLAMABAD: PPP leader and former Chairman of Evacuee Trust Property Board Asif Hashmi was arrested in Dubai by police here at today over corruption charges.
As per details, approval to start investigation against Asif Hashmi had been given by NAB Chairman Qamar Zaman Ch. few months ago in executive board meeting but Asif Hashmi managed to escape from the country before investigation.
Sources claimed that Asif Hashmi was involved in massive corruption scandals and investigation is underway against him for more than Rs. 4 billion scam.
NAB officials contacted Interpol and informed about the details of his passports and corruption scandals while red warrant had also been issued against Asif Hashmi by NAB in this regard.
Sources further claimed that national finance had been damaged by Asif Hashmi during his tenure while two separate cases were also filed against him over corruption charges. He would be brought to Pakistan soon for further investigation.
