2 men killed and several injured in attack on Jaffer Express today

QUETTA: At least 2 men were killed and several injured here at today (Tuesday) in remote control blast at railway track near Bakhtiarabad, area of Sibbi district in Baluchistan.

 

As per details, Jaffer Express was on its way from Rawalpindi to Quetta when blast occurred at railway track near Bakhtiarabad. A bogie of the train was severely damaged in the blast while 2 passengers breathed their last at the spot and several sustained injuries.

 

Police and rescue teams rushed to the scene and cordoned off area. Wounded were shifted to nearby hospital by rescue team for medical treatment while Police started search operation to arrest the culprits.

 

According to the Railway Police, SP Zaheer Arshad, it was a remote control blast while 60 to 70 passengers were present in bogie number 3 which was severely damaged in the blast.

 

On the other hand, Baluchistan CM expressed his grief over the loss of precious lives and sought an inquiry report into the incident.

 

It is also worthy to mention here that it was not the first attack on Jaffer Express as it has been attacked by terrorists several times.
