ICC reveals latest ODI rankings: Two Pakistani players climb up the scale

DUBAI - The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released latest One Day International (ODI) rankings and some of the Pakistani players finally found some takeaways from the disastrous Asia Cup outing.

As per the latest updates, young left-arm opener Imam-ul-Haq, seasoned all-rounder Shoaib Malik and the fast-bowler Junaid Khan have improved their ODI rankings.

Imam got the lion’s share of gains for his three half-centuries in Asia Cup. He jumped 15 places to reach a career-best 27th position. Malik, who also scored as many half-centuries, gained 12 slots to reach the 42nd position. Playing only the last game in Asia Cup, Junaid picked 4 wickets for 19 runs; the performance has helped him gaining seven slots to sit on the 30th position among bowlers.

There were some losses as well with Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman going down the order for their dismal display of batting. While Azam lost his previous second spot and slipped down to 6th, Zaman gave away three slots and now sits at the 19th position.
