WASHINGTON: United States Secretary Defence Jim Mattis has said Washington will try to work with Pakistan in Afghanistan.
Speaking at the House Armed Services Committee hearing in Washington, he said he will travel to Islamabad soon.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan embassy in Washington has said that Islamabad has achieved major success in counter-terrorism operations.
In a statement, the Embassy said long lasting peace in the region will remain out of reach unless the same level of success is achieved in Afghanistan.
