The United Nations has expressed disquiet over the Hindu-Muslim clashes in Indian city of Jodhpur on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Responding to a question during his regular briefing in New York, Deputy spokesperson for UN Secretary-General, Farhan Aziz Haq, said the Indian government and security forces should ensure that everyone go about their activities, including their celebratory activities.
Earlier, curfew was imposed in various areas of Jodhpur and mobile internet services were suspended as communal tension mounted in the city after Hindu extremists stopped Muslims from hoisting a flag on Eid-ul-Fitr.
