Kazakhstan has signed the Treaty on Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons.
The agreement was signed by Permanent Representative of Kazakhstan to the United Nations, Kairat Umarov.
According to Kazakhstan's Foreign Ministry, the denuclearization was not an accidental decision, but a well-considered and thoughtful act by a responsible state.
After signing the treaty Kazakhstan has become the 57th signatory state of the treaty, which was adopted on July 7 in 2017 with the support of 122 UN member states.APP/AFP
