Bangladesh arrests Commander military unit Ansar Al Islam

DHAKA - Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-11 on Sunday arrested the commander of the military unit of Ansar al-Islam, Sadman Rahik alias Jabir from Tikatuli area of the capital. He was arrested from a flat in Paramount Concord.
He was produced before senior magistrate Ahmed Humayun where RAB appealed for his 10-day remand, but the court granted seven-day remand for interrogation.
Jabir is accused of sedition and militant activities in Narayanganj's Araihajar police station area.
Senior Assistant Director of RAB-11, Alepp Uddin, said, "Sadman Rahik alias Jabir was inspired by militant ideology in 2010. Since 2014, he has been serving as the commander of the military unit of the militant organization Ansar al-Islam."
He was also working to recruit members from different places.
Currently, two of his accomplices Junnun Sikdar and Abu Taher Sumon are participating in the war in Afghanistan.
