PEMRA issues show cause notice to private TV Channel

ISLAMABAD: (APP) Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) on Saturday issued show cause notice to Koh-e-Noor television channel to telecast anti-Pakistan remarks.
According to a press release issued here on February 27, in Koh-e-Noor TV programme Ander Ki Baat, analyst Ajmal Niazi used irresponsible and unprofessional language to criticise Pakistan.
The management of the said channel has been asked to submit a reply by March 10.
The notice said that PEMRA can impose Rs 1 million fine, ban the said programme or suspend or cancel the licence of the channel for violation of the code of conduct and relevant PEMRA rules.
