Punjab tops the list of Religious seminaries foreign funding

LAHORE: There are 188 Religious seminaries in Pakistan which takes foreign funding while these seminaries do not have any record of foreign funding.
As per details, Punjab is on the top of the list of religious seminaries for foreign funding. According to the report of the private TV Channel, only foreign students are being taught in 10 religious seminaries of Baluchistan.
Foreign funders includes Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Kuwait, Iran, Turkey, USA, UK, South Africa, Iraq and other countries.
147 seminaries are present in Punjab while Baluchistan on second position with 23 seminaries for foreign funding. KPK has 12 seminaries while Sindh has 6 seminaries which take foreign funds. Administrators of the few seminaries go abroad for taking funds. Report revealed.
Speaking on the matter of foreign funding, religious scholars said that they accepted the accountability system of seminaries but government should also confess the services of seminaries.
