Pakistan China strategic partnership to remain unchanged regardless of political change in Pakistan: Chinese FM

BEIJING - A Chinese foreign ministry’s spokesperson Monday said the development of the all-weather strategic partnership between China and Pakistan would remain unchanged regardless of any political change in wake of general elections in Pakistan.

“The development of the all-weather strategic partnership between China and Pakistan would remain unchanged no matter what outcome was after the upcoming general election in Pakistan,” Hua Chunying said responding to a question by APP during her regular press briefing.

The spokesperson said, “I believe no matter what outcome is the sound momentum of development of our all-weather strategic partnership will remain unchanged.”

When asked to comment that an interim government led by Caretaker Prime Minister Nasir ul Mulk has taken charge and that the new government would hold the election on July 25, she said, “We have noted that Pakistan will hold general election at the end of July.”

Hua Chunying sincerely hoped that the Pakistan side could accomplish such a major political process in a smooth and steady way.
