No consensus so far on caretaker CMs in Punjab, Balochistan

ISLAMABAD: There has been no consensus so far on caretaker chief ministers in Punjab and Balochistan.

The scheduled meeting between former Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and PTI leader Mahmood-ur-Rasheed did not take place on Sunday and the matter has now been referred to a parliamentary committee.

The PML-N has given names of Rana Sanaullah, Rana Mashhood, Zaeem Qadri, and Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, while PTI has named Mahmood-ur-Rasheed, Sibtain Khan, and Shoaib Siddiqui for the committee. The committee will meet in a bid to reach consensus on the name of caretaker chief minister for Punjab.

If the committee also could not nominate a consensus chief minister, the matter will be referred to Election Commission to decide.

In Balochistan also, no consensus has so far reached on the name of caretaker chief minister. A meeting between former Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo and former opposition leader in Balochistan Assembly Abdul Raheem Ziaratwal is likely to take place on this count.APP
