AIOU Islamabad's excellent initiative for girls education in Pakistan
ISLAMABAD - Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) Islamabad has signed an agreement with Plan International and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to bring the women of far flung and deprived areas into educational net.
The signing ceremony was held in Islamabad attended by representatives of all three organizations.
Addressing the ceremony, Vice Chancellor AIOU Dr Shahid Siddiqui said the project will help provide education to drop out girls of distant areas.
He said AIOU has been providing free of cost education to drop out girls up to middle level in Nankana Sahib, Vehari, Chakwal, Kharian and Thatta.
Dr Shahid Siddiqui said the University is also bringing the vulnerable segments of society into national mainstream and making them productive citizens.
