Pakistan-Russia to engage in economic development

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua has said New Delhi's committing ceasefire violations on the Line of Control to divert world attention from the Kashmir issue. She said continued enmity between the two countries will not serve the people of either country. She said both the countries should sit together for the development and progress in the region, which is not possible without having peace and stability in the area.

Tehmina Janjua said Pakistan will present its stance on Kulbhushan Jadhav case in the International Court of Justice in an effective manner. She said arrest of Jadhave is the visible manifestation of India's interference in Pakistan.   

Tehmina Janjua said Pakistan can undertake future endeavors with Russian in multiple fields like economy, investment, and development. She said Pakistan will welcome every hand of friendship from anywhere.

Turning to situation in Afghanistan, the Foreign Secretary said Pakistan always supports Afghan-owned and Afghan-led peace process to restore normalcy in the war torn country.

She said border management should be improved between the two countries to check cross border terrorism. She said Pakistan understands the agony of its Afghan brethren as both are victims of terrorism. She called for a positive approach to improve relations between Islamabad and Kabul.

Answering a question on China Pakistan Economic Corridor, Tehmina Janjua said the project will usher in an era of development and progress for Pakistan and the entire region.
