Muslim soldier fired from Indian Army after refusing to shave off beard

NEW DELHI: A Muslim soldier was fired from Indian army in the name of law after his refusal to shave his beard.

  1. As per report, a Muslim soldier named Makhtumhusen fired from services and also taken in custody for fourteen days when he refused to shave beard.

Makhtumhusen also received show cause notice from upper subordinates in this regard.

Makhtumhusen called it discriminatory and claimed to take the issue in Supreme Court.

According to new amendments in Indian army law, only Sikh soldiers are allowed to grow beard.
