ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif has said that Pakistan destroyed its economy to please the United States of America.
In a tweet on Wednesday, he said that the government has been disposing of the debris of decades for the last four years.
“A dictator surrendered to a phone call. Thousands of civilians and armymen laid their lives for your (US) war. Ammunition and explosives passed through our passages on the way to Afghanistan. You still question us what we did,” he retorted.
The minister asked the US not to hold Pakistan responsible for its failures.
He said that the past teaches the lesson of being cautious while trusting the US. “We will not compromise on our dignity,” he said.
