Pakistan and US are still friend and allies: DG ISPR

RAWALPINDI - Director General ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor has said that the civil and military leadership has categorically reacted against President Trump's threat to Pakistan.

Talking with a Private TV Channel this evening, he termed this reaction as a national response and said that US President's tweet was strongly condemned by Federal Cabinet and National Security Committee and Corps Commander Conference as well.

He said that Pakistan and its Army are not fighting for money but for peace in the region and security of the country.

He said the fund being provided by the US Administration to Pakistan under coalition support fund was reimbursement which Pakistan has already spent in supporting to war against terror.

He said Pakistan received an amount of between 15-20 billion dollars under coalition funds for our military expenditure, while the national exchequer incurred 123 billion dollars in losses.

DG ISPR said that Pakistan and the US are still friends and allies and Pakistan wishes to continue this coordination in future to achieve common goals and objectives. He said that we wish to move forward through cooperative engagement but we will not compromise on self-respect and dignity.
