BEIJING - A fleet of frigates under the People's Liberation Army Navy has launched a real-combat drill to promote the operational capacity of different types of warships.
When the Navy fleet composed of Huzhou, Luoyang, Mianyang and Linfen ships set off at 7:00, Huzhou suddenly received a message that an "enemy" submarine was spotted. The four frigates were then ordered to make full preparation to search and attack the submarine.
The data chain system kept receiving effective information about the "enemy" submarine and finally the sonar equipment on the Huzhou ship located the "enemy" after meticulous comparison and judgment.
The torpedo successfully hit the target despite the occurrence of dangerous situations one after another. The fleet fired disruptor ammos at it while adjusting their sailing direction and speed to elude being attacked.
