Media crisis in Pakistan? Newspapers near shutdown, journalist sacked

ISLAMABAD - A camp of protesting journalists sacked from a newspaper in Islamabad has been setup.

Information Minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain visited the camp.

He says Pakistan Media Regulatory Authority (PMRA) is being set up to protect the rights of media workers.

He said this during visit of camp of protesting journalists sacked from a newspaper in Islamabad on Monday.

Information Minister said Prime Minister Imran Khan has also expressed concern over the removal of journalists.

He said the government will extend every help to those journalists, removed from the job.
