IHC seeks NAB record related to Zulfi Bukhari's cases

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) directed the National Accountability Court (NAB) to produce the inquiry record regarding cases of Zulfi Bukhari by Tuesday.

A divisional bench of IHC comprising Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhter Kyani heard the case filed by Zulfi Bukhari challenging inclusion of his name in the Exit Control List (ECL).

The petitioner's counsel Sikander Bashir contended before the court that travel rights of his client had been usurped due to his name on the ECL. He prayed the court to reverse the decision of putting Bukhari’s name on the ECL.
During the course of hearing, the bench expressed displeasure over some remarks of the petitioner’s counsel.

Justice Kiyani said NAB had summoned Bukhari four times. Why once his name was removed from the ECL, he asked.
The court directed the NAB to produce the documents allowing Bukhari to travel abroad once.
The court also sought the inquiry record regarding cases of Zulfi Bukhari and adjourned the case till Tuesday.
