Afghan refugees stay in Pakistan extended

ISLAMABAD, Dec 4 (APP): Advisor to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz Sunday said Pakistan was working on plans to extend Afghan refugees' stay in Pakistan till December 31, 2017 and keep their voluntary return smooth and orderly.

During his address at the sixth Heart of Asia Ministerial Conference in Amritsar, India, he highlighted Pakistan's efforts in hosting millions of Afghan refugees on its soil during the past three decades.

About their repatriation process, he said Pakistan was engaged with Afghanistan and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in the ongoing return process to their homeland with honour and dignity.
