Federal Cabinet: A Hindu Minister after 25 years, 8 from South Punjab

ISLAMABAD: The 43-member cabinet of Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi includes five new ministers from South Punjab and a Hindu minister appointed in 25 years.
Hafiz Abdul Karim, Syed Javed Ali Shah, Abdul Rehman Kanju, Sardar Awais Leghari and Muhammad Arshad Khan Leghari are the new inclusion to the cabinet, raising the number of ministers in new cabinet to eight hailing from South Punjab.
Earlier, three ministers from the same belt were part of the previous cabinet.
Dr.Darshan Punshi has been sworn-in as Minister of State and is the first minister belonging to Hindu faith, appointed in 25 years. He is also the new addition from Sindh.
Ghalib Khan is another minister from Federally Administered Tribal Area (FATA) who has been included in the new cabinet. He is the second minister from FATA appointed in five years. – APP
