Ishaq Dar explains Pakistan's economic achievements to IMF

ISLAMABAD: (APP) The twelfth and last Review meeting between International Monetary Fund and Pakistan has been concluded in Dubai.

In a statement, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said that IMF has shown enthusiasm in tax, energy and monetary sectors of Pakistan.

The minister said that Pakistan has achieved major targets of economic reforms by June this year.

He said that IMF had promised to grant over six billion dollars to Pakistan in last three years.

He said that Pakistan has also achieved the targets of foreign reserves, currency swap and reduction in domestic loans.

Ishaq Dar said that a target of 5.7 percent GDP growth rate and reforms in performance of public sector organizations will also be achieved in the current year.

He said that ten thousand megawatt electricity will also be included in the national grid till 2018.

He said that a tax collection of Rs. 3115 billion has been achieved against the target of Rs.3104 billion.
