Waqar Younis resigned from the post of Head Coach



LAHORE: National Cricket team Head Coach has resigned from his post here at today while Selection Committee has also been dissolved by Pakistan Cricket Board.

 

While talking to media here at Lahore, Waqar announced to resign from the post of Head Coach saying that he is feeling hurt, announcing his resignation because he worked with full honesty over 19 months for Pakistan cricket team.

 

Waqar further added that 3 months are left in the expiry of his contract and Rs. 50 lakhs are due on PCB against 3 months of salary but he appealed Pakistan Cricket Board to spend this amount on first class cricket for the improvement of Pakistani cricket.

 

He stated that his report was leaked by Pakistan Cricket Board but PCB is just his home so he did not want to become cause of PCB defame.

 

Waqar made it clear that if his suggestions would be implemented by board then it will facilitate next coach while he would be available at any time for the improvement of Pakistani cricket.

 

On the other hand, PCB has dissolved selection committee while Wasim Akram and Ramiz Raja have been given a task to find a new coach for national team. Sources further claimed that a media spokesperson would be appointed by PCB for regular media briefings. National team training camp would be established at Abbottabad before the visit of England for ODIs and Test series.
