NAB arrests key bureaucrat from Lahore over corruption charges

Lahore: The National Accountability Bureau on Thursday arrested Traffice Engineering & Transport Planning Agency (TEPA) Chief Engineer Mazhar Hussain Khan and a co-accused in an assets beyond means case.

Khan, who had also served as LDA chief engineer, is facing charges of making assets worth over Rs700 million.

While serving in the LDA, the suspect allegedly raised assets worth Rs500 million in the name of his family members. He also allegedly transacted Rs200 million to an account of his nephew.

The arrested bureaucrat has been accused of making assets in the name of his family members.

An investigation team of NAB has received records about transferring Rs230 million to the bank accounts, held by family of Mazhar Hussain Khan.

The culprit is yet to provide sources of the assets.

It also surfaced during the investigation that the suspect holds multiple plots in LDA Avenue Society and property at different locations in Lahore.

NAB Lahore initiated investigation against the bureaucrat of 19 grade over alleged misappropriation last year.

Mazhar Hussin will be produced before an accountability court to get his physical remand.
