One US soldier killed, another injured in Afghanistan attack
KABUL - At least one US service member was killed and another wounded in an apparent insider attack in eastern Afghanistan, Resolute Support said in a statement on Monday.
“The sacrifice of our service member, who volunteered for a mission to Afghanistan to protect this country, is a tragic loss for all who knew and all who will now never known him, said the statement, quoting Afghanistan commanding General Scott Miller.
“Our duty now is to honor him, care for his family and continue our mission,” added Miller.
The US service member is the sixth killed in Afghanistan this year.
