SCBA annual elections schedule announced

ISLAMAABD: (APP) The annual elections of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) will be held on October 31.
According to the schedule approved by the SCBA executive committee, nominations will be filed from October 3 to October 8.
A notification issued by the SCBA Chairman Election Board/Returning Officer Chaudhry Afrasiyab Khan, says a provisional list of eligible voters would be published on September 21. Objections to the eligibility of voters will be filed by September 23 and decided on September 24. The final list of eligible voters would be published on September 30.
Khan said the candidates may file their nomination papers from October 3 to October 8. The nomination papers will be scrutinised and any objections to these decided on October 10. The final list of candidates would be issued on October 14. Appeals against acceptance and rejection of nomination papers could be filed on October 17. Any such appeals will be heard and decided on October 18.
Candidates would be allowed to withdraw by October 20. The final listof candidates would be issued on October 22.
Polling, if necessary, will be held on October 31. Unofficial vote count would be announced the same day. The result will be officially notified on November 4.
Khan said only life members and those who have paid their dues by the deadline will be entitled to vote. All members have the option of acquiring a life membership by September 19.
