Wasim Akram rejects lucrative offer from PCB
Legendary fast bowler Wasim Akram has rejected PCB’s offer for the role of the Cricket Committee chairman. The Sultan of Swing was offered the role after the resignation of Iqbal Qasim last month.
The vacant position was recently offered to Akram, but he declined due to various other commitments. He stated that he will not be accepting the role to avoid any conflict of interest claims. ------------------------------
“I will be accused of conflict of interest, so I want to work independently instead of being blamed by anyone,” he said.
The committee was put in place to aid and give recommendations to the PCB, but it is currently without any chairman after Iqbal Qasim’s resignation. Mohsin Hassan Khan also left the post after conflicts with PCB.
Wasim Akram has been part of the Cricket Committee since its inception and has worked under all the previous chairmen.
