DUBAI - Pakistan cricket team management has decided to test a new opening pair against Australia.
Mohammad Hafeez and Imamul Haq are likely to be Pakistan’s next choice as opening pair for the upcoming two-Test series against Australia.
It must be noted that Pakistan’s last opening pair of Azhar Ali and Imamul Haq failed to make an impact during the Test series against Ireland and England — where their best opening stand in six innings was just 20 runs.
Hafeez — who was not picked in the initial squad — was called by the team management following his good form with the bat in the domestic cricket . He joined the team in Dubai on Tuesday.
