ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Tuesday served notices to Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Interior in a case regarding placing Lt. Gen (R) Asad Durrani's name on Exit Control List (ECL).
Justice Mohsin Akhter Kiyani of IHC conducted hearing over Durrani's plea filed through his counsel Umar Farrukh Adam challenging his name on ECL.
The petitioner had stated in his plea that he had retired from his job 25 year back and now he had no relation with any institution.
His name was illegally included in ECL, he further claimed.
The bench asked whether any inquiry was conducted before putting his name on ECL.
The petitioner counsel replied in no.
The court, however, served notices to the respondents and sought reply till October 18.
It may be mentioned here that Durrani's name was placed in ECL on May 29, when his disputed book surfaced in market.
