NACTA tasked to play active role in the counterterrorism strategy

ISLAMABAD - Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal has directed National Counter-Terrorism Authority to undertake a collaborative effort to build a strong counter narrative to extremism.
Chairing a high-level meeting of NACTA in Islamabad on Monday, he also issued directions to create a subgroup of relevant stakeholders on Counter Narrative and a comprehensive strategy should be presented in a week.
He said that the activities of extremists on social media should also be monitored who are using this way as an effective tool to convey their messages.
NACTA can play vital role in the elimination of terrorism and extremism in the country through the effective coordination among the provinces.
